A lot of credit card fraud problems begin with dodgy websites

A technology commentator says a lot of credit card fraud problems begin when customers are sucked into dodgy websites

    22 May 2018
ASB says it's inundated with complaints about fraud and payment disputes, with a backlog of a month.

Gorilla Technology CEO Paul Spain says you're almost always safe with big, well known website brands like E-bay, Amazon and New Zealand retailers - unless it's a look-alike scam site.

He says sometimes when people jump on a little Google ad and put in their card details - they're swallowed up and sold on.

Paul Spain says once you're in that position, scammers can go around and spend your money.
