Hokitika's 'Instagram-famous' Gorge swing bridge is being shut down in six weeks, because of safety concerns

Westland District Council's Karl Jackson says although almost every part's been replaced over the past decade, there's an increasing risk of structural failure.

Development West Coast chief executive Heath Milne says the bridge has brought the area tens of thousands of visitors - but this is the right decision.
