Months on from the damaging Port Hills fires, locals have thrown a party for the fire crews who protected their homes

The event was held in Cracroft this afternoon, and included music, a BBQ and a visit from Christchurch's batman.
Fire and Emergency's Wayne Hamilton says it's great to have this event put on for fire crews families, who miss out on so much during emergencies.
