Residents may be able to steadily return to their Port Hills properties, but Fire and Emergency say the blaze is still un-contained

Residents may be able to steadily return to their Port Hills properties, but Fire and Emergency say the blaze is still un-contained

Those heading home are being told to prepare go-bags just incase things turn, however crews are hopeful the weekends weather will help them progress well.

Incident Controller Dave Stackhouse says they will have a better indication of the fires status, prior to the nor-west change.

Stackhouse says they're taking advantage of this weather window, and he's putting more horsepower into the response up until Sunday night.
