Australian driver Will Power has denied being involved in the scandal that's rocked IndyCar racing in the US

Power says he was unaware of any manipulations to Team Penske's push-to-pass system until after last weekend's race at Long Beach and he is adamant that he never illegally used the mechanism.

Team Penske is under heavy scrutiny following revelations they violated the 'push-to-pass' system in the season opener in March with American Josef Newgarden retrospectively stripped of the victory and kiwi Scott McLaughlin, who finished third, also disqualified.

Power finished fourth and while his result was not thrown out, he was docked 10 points and fined.

McLaughlin yesterday accepted his punishment but says it was a mistake rather than cheating.
