Nick Jonas was named Favourite Male Singer at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

The 22-year-old singer also hosted the ceremony in Inglewood, California, where he collected his prize and got drenched in green slime on stage.

Elsewhere, actress Angelina Jolie won Best Villain for her film 'Maleficent' and escaped the green slime in the process.

On accepting her prize - which was voted for by the public - the acclaimed actress told the crowd: "When someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up and be proud.

I was told I was different. And I felt out of place: too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in.

"Cause a little trouble. It's good for you.''

Angelina's appearance comes shortly after she revealed she'd had her fallopian tubes and ovaries removed in order to reduce her risk of getting cancer.

Meanwhile, 'The Hunger Games' actor Liam Hemsworth was named Favourite Male Action Star, while Emma Stone won Best Actress for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'.

The awards ceremony featured performances from Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, who also got covered in green slime.

The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards airs in the UK at 5pm today (29.03.15) on Nickelodeon.
