Meghan Trainor says it's "nice" to have a boyfriend who understands fame

The 'No' hitmaker has been dating her actor beau Daryl Sabara for five months now, and has admitted one of the best things about being in a relationship with another famous person is that he knows to expect a lot of attention when they are out in public together.

Asked who her kindred spirit is, Meghan told Billboard magazine, Meghan said: "My boyfriend knows what it's like to be on a red carpet, to be super hot for a second with everyone talking about you. It's nice to have someone who actually understands."

Meanwhile, the pop beauty says she always knew 2016 would be her year.

She said: "Growing up, I remember I always wanted to be 22. Now I am. I've finished a tour and sold out every show; got a Grammy; I have an amazing new boyfriend. For some reason, I knew this would be my year."

And it seems things are hotting up between the 22-year-old pop beauty and the former 'Spy Kids' star as after just five months of dating she's convinced he's "the one".

Meghan recently said: "I'm in love! I just had my five month anniversary yesterday.

"We went out to dinner and we did puzzles because I love doing puzzles lately. He bought me three special cool puzzles that are like 3D and we spent the day just chilling. It was awesome."

And, although it's taken the 'All About That Bass' singer five months to drop love into the equation, Megan knew the former the 24-year-old hunk was right for her from their second date because he spoilt her.

She explained: "I've never been treated so nicely from a guy...he showed up to our second date with a rose in his hand and I was like, 'Oh, you're a movie, awesome.' I was like, 'You're the one!' "

And, although she doesn't think they'll be walking down the aisle any time soon, the handsome actor has inspired some love songs.

The brunette star added: "I actually made him write some songs with me, so we've collaborated.

"It's fun to have someone that understands what you're doing and he loves artists, so he loves getting to see the behind-the-scenes."
