The Mainland Tactix are two from two to start the new ANZ Premiership netball season

The Mainland Tactix are two from two to start the new ANZ Premiership netball season

The Tactix have beaten the Northern Mystics 42-39 in Auckland.

Mainland goal shoot Ellie Bird led all scorers with 25 goals.

The result means the Mystics remain winless from two games.

Blues coach Tana Umaga's welcoming back the experience of second five Sonny Bill Williams.

The two-time Rugby World Cup winner will start against the Hurricanes after seven weeks out with a wrist injury.

Umaga says he's expecting Williams to lead from the front as always.

Williams will make his return at second five.

David Nyika is playing a waiting game.

The double Commonwealth Games gold medallist is holding off making a call on his future until boxing's place at the Tokyo Olympics is confirmed.

The International Olympic Committee has threatened the sport's place at the 2020 Games, because of governance concerns.

Nyika says the IOC's decision will likely dictate whether he receives any government funding.

David Nyika says he'll remain amateur if boxing is confirmed in the Olympic programme and he's able to secure the necessary funding.

He expects a decision in August and, while he waits, Nyika will train with Joseph Parker in Las Vegas and experience the professional game.

The Houston Rockets have eliminated the Utah Jazz from the NBA playoffs.

The Rockets have seen off the Jazz 112-102 in game five of their series on home court to progress 4-1 to the western conference finals.

Chris Paul dropped 41 points and 10 assists to secure his side's path, where they will meet wither the Golden State Warriors or New Orleans Pelicans.

The Warriors lead that series 3-1, with game five underway.
