Aaron Smith rested for Highlanders' Super Rugby match against the Lions
All Blacks halfback Aaron Smith will be rested for the Highlanders' Super Rugby match against the Lions in Dunedin on Saturday
10 May 2018
Smith has played in all nine of his Super Rugby side's matches so far and needs to two rounds off before the June break.
Kayne Hammington takes his spot in the starting side, while last year's All Blacks tourist Dillon Hunt will also sit out this week, replaced by James Lentjes
Tevita Nabura takes the spot of Sio Tomkinson on the left wing in the other change to the run-on side.
Meanwhile, Carlos Spencer believes he can add a touch of his own style of play to the Hurricanes.
The former Blues and All Blacks playmaker will be on John Plumtree's coaching staff from 2019 as an assistant backs coach.
Renowned for his ad-hoc style during his playing days, Spencer says he wants to bring that to the 'Canes - where appropriate.
