    Shot putter Tom Walsh's decision to heighten his early season standards has paid dividends after winning at the Capital Classic in Wellington


    The Commonwealth Games gold medallist has thrown 21.21 metres, improving on last week's 21.09 metre throw last week in Whanganui.

    Walsh is pushing harder than usual.
