Police are working to find out what caused a pedestrian to be killed by a truck in central Dunedin

Police are working to find out what caused a pedestrian to be killed by a truck in central Dunedin

A Parks company owned truck struck a pedestrian, who tragically died at the scene, before colliding with several vehicles at around 7.55 this morning.

The Serious Crash Unit is working to piece together exactly what's happened.

Parks General Manager Stuart Gerring says they're providing support to the driver involved - this is the first incident in the 30 years his family has owned the company.

He also extends his sincere condolences to the family and friends of the pedestrian.
