The Red Bull driver has powered to victory, finishing 14 seconds clear of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton with a further eight seconds to Ferrari's Charles Leclerc .

Hamilton's runner-up result brings him within 20 points of second in the standings, held by Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez - he crashed out on the opening lap of his home race.

Daniel Ricciardo has clinched AlphaTauri's best finish of the year with seventh, driving the car piloted by Liam Lawson for five races.
