AMI Insurance says Toyota Aquas are still topping their list for car theft claims

AMI Insurance says Toyota Aquas are still topping their list for car theft claims

It says last year customers made the second-most car-theft claims in the past five years, at almost 17-thousand.

Exec Claims General Manager, Wayne Tippet, says cars are stolen most in Auckland, followed by Canterbury and Waikato.

He says Nissan Tiidas, Toyota Corollas and Mazda Demios followed Aquas in popularity for theft.

Tippet recommends installing steering locks - as an effective, cost-friendly security measure.
