The presence of Australian rugby league star Dane Gagai wasn't enough for the Maori All-Stars, who have lost 22-14 to the Indigenous All-Stars in Townsville

The presence of Australian rugby league star Dane Gagai wasn't enough for the Maori All-Stars, who have lost 22-14 to the Indigenous All-Stars in Townsville

The Knights centre qualifies for both teams and played for the Indigenous side for three years before turning out for the Maori team in 2019.

But Gagai hadn't played since 2020 because the decision on who to play for was too much to bear... so Maori coach Adam Blair was stoked to have the Origin and Kangaroos player in their midst.

The Indigenous side's win means they become the first to win back-to-back All Stars matches since the Maori were introduced to the concept in 2019
