    Police are reassuring the public after a firearm was discharged in the Christchurch suburb of Hillmorton this morning


    A man reportedly fired a gun at a premises - believed to be a hotel - on Lincoln Road around 10.30am.

    Police have secured an air rifle, and are making enquiries to locate the individual.

    No injuries have been reported and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
