A burst wastewater pipe in Porirua's spewed raw sewage into the Kenepuru and Porirua Streams

Wellington Water's confirmed there's been a wastewater pipe rupture below Tasman Close, causing untreated wastewater to flow into streams.

People are advised to avoid going into the Kenepuru and Porirua streams until water testing comes back clear.

Wellington Water says the location of the burst pipe makes access difficult, and there are health and safety concerns.
