A Dunedin man is being treated for fall injuries, malnutrition and hypothermia, after spending two weeks missing in the bush

The Otago Daily Times reports 44-year-old Jon Ellison was spotted by member of the public last night.

The bystander offered him an apple, and he was rushed to hospital.

A large-scale search operation has been carried out in Dunedin over the past two weeks, searching for the man.

Police are thanking everyone who offered to help with the search, and provided information.
