Dog owners are being reminded Easter egg hunts can be deadly for their pets

Dog owners are being reminded Easter egg hunts can be deadly for their pets

Veterinary Association's Sally Cory's urging people to keep their dogs away from chocolate this weekend to avoid an emergency trip to the vet.

She says dogs are inquisitive creatures and if they get the chance to eat your Easter eggs, they probably will.

Sally Cory says dogs should also be kept away from raisins and sultanas in hot cross bun, and to a lesser degree, nuts, such as macadamia nuts.
