Rescue operations continue into the night in Taiwan, with more than 100 people trapped in tunnels after a deadly earthquake

At least nine people have died and more than 900 been injured in the 7.2 magnitude quake, causing some buildings to tilt at precarious angles in the mountainous Hualien county.

Taiwan's national fire agency says about 70 people have been rescued from two rock quarries near the city.

At least 29 aftershocks greater than a magnitude of 4.0 have been recorded.
