Earthquake resilience is about more than just saving lives according to new research

Earthquake resilience is about more than just saving lives according to new research

EQC's found Kiwi's have high expectations when it comes to building strength and want to be back and working in buildings and homes as soon as possible.

Head of Risk Reduction and Resilience Sarah-Jayne McCurrach says these findings help them to work towards pushing for policy which reflects these expectations.

McCurrach says this will help increase seismic resilience in buildings -- adding it's getting cheaper, which raises the question of whether it can be done sooner
