    Swimmer Hazel Ouwehand has powered to the New Zealand 50-metre butterfly record at the national championships in Hastings


    The 24-year-old clocked 25.88 seconds in the non-Olympic discipline, eclipsing her 26.01 mark set in Auckland last month.

    Ouwehand has told Whakaata Maori her focus is the 100 metre Olympic distance in which she clocked another record 57.76 seconds which was under the qualification time for Paris.



    She races the 50 metre final at 5:58 tonight.
