Concerns we could lose our global standing as a clean and green economy

Concerns we could lose our global standing as a clean and green economy

The Government will make it easier to mine coal by removing the extra consent controls placed on the sector, compared to other forms of mining.

Resource Minister Shane Jones says the red-tape is holding back economic development.

But Coal Action Network's Jenny Campbell thinks otherwise.

She says not using fossil fuels is helping the whole world, especially when we look at the drastic climate change events in our country, in the last two years.
