A new role awaits versatile Crusaders back David Havili ahead of his injury return in Friday's home clash against the Rebels in Christchurch

The All Black's been named on the bench as first-five cover - in a positional switch suggested by the All Blacks coaching group.

Havili - who started as a fullback before shifting to second five - is welcoming the challenge.

Scott Barrett returns to the captain the side at lock, Codie Taylor is still a week away from his first match after taking up a non-playing sabbatical.
