A pair of tragedies is prompting warnings around youngsters and driveways

Two children have been hit and killed in driveways in rural South Auckland in the past week.

Brake New Zealand Director Caroline Perry says accidents happen extremely quickly and without warning.

She says similar incidents are frighteningly common.

Perry says about five children die in driveways a year, and a child is injured in one of every two weeks.
