Confirmation overall NCEA pass rates declined in 2023, compared to the year before

But the finalised NZQA data shows Level Three and University Entrance attainment by Year 13 students was similar to 2019's pre-covid levels.

The pass rate of Level One among Year 11 students has fallen almost nine percent since 2019.

Deputy Chief Executive Assessment, Jann Marshall, says it reflects the trend of some schools moving away from offering a Level One programme.
