The month-long search for a man who was wanted in connection with a violent kidnapping in Auckland is over

Police found him, and three others, hiding in a Waiheke Island home believed to be connected to the Mongols gang.

The 25-year-old man allegedly abducted and injured a woman in Beach Haven early last month.

He's facing several charges including kidnapping, committing burglarly with a firearm and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He'll appear in the North Shore District Court later today.
