The NRL have secured a significant win, with the referees' union dropping their threat of industrial action and the pocket official scrapped less than a week before the competition restarts

After a dramatic day where the the union and NRL officials fired verbal jabs at each other, the parties eventually agreed on terms with one referee per game confirmed.
Under the deal, 22 full-time referees will be employed both this year and next, with the new system to be a trial that is reviewed at season's end.
