Police have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead in a Central Auckland apartment yesterday evening

Police have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead in a Central Auckland apartment yesterday evening

They say her body was found after they were called to a possible incident at a Day Street address at around 7:35pm.

Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin says a 38-year-old man, who was known to the woman, has been charged with murder.

He says the man is due to appear in Auckland District Court tomorrow.

But Baldwin says police still want to hear from anyone who many have information relevant to the investigation.
