Health New Zealand is launching Measles Immunisation Week tomorrow to get a growing outbreak under control

Health New Zealand is launching Measles Immunisation Week tomorrow to get a growing outbreak under control

Two new cases were confirmed in the Wellington region yesterday, bringing the national tally to 16.

The two new infections are both locally acquired and not linked to overseas travel.

One of the cases is a pupil at Wellington Girls College - which had already confirmed that a student had been infected.

More than 10 thousand doses of the MMR vaccine have been administered over the past two weeks.
