    A search is underway for a man missing after jumping off a bridge into the Waikato River

    A search is underway for a man missing after jumping off a bridge into the Waikato River


    Police say the man jumped off Pukete Bridge at 7.45pm last night, and couldn't be found after only briefly resurfacing.

    Fire and Emergency and police extensively searched the water and riverbank but failed to find him.

    Land search and rescue will search the bank again this morning, while other staff will search the river.
