Auckland's waterfront footbridge is officially operating again, with the first members of the public walking across it

Auckland's waterfront footbridge is officially operating again, with the first members of the public walking across it

The bridge opened shortly after 7am.

It's the first time since March, when it closed for repairs.

The bridge serves as a crucial link between the Viaduct and Wynyard Quarter and its closure has hurt businesses, foot traffic and revenue.

The bridge will only operate between 7.30am-11.30pm, so any remaining issues that might arise are quickly detected.
