    Deontay Wilder retains WBC heavyweight boxing title after split decision draw with Tyson Fury

    American Deontay Wilder has retained his WBC heavyweight boxing title after a split decision draw with Brit Tyson Fury in Los Angeles, leaving both fighters seeking a re-match


    Wilder knocked Fury down twice, but the Briton controlled much of the fight behind his long jab and precise footwork while generally avoiding the American's overhand right.



    Wellington Phoenix coach Mark Rudan believes his side's been robbed of two competition points after their 1-all A-League draw with the Perth Glory at home.

    The Phoenix held a 1-nil lead before substitute defender Ryan Lowry was shown a red card upon video review after his studs brushed a Glory player while contacting the ball during a tackle - Perth equalised shortly afterwards.

    The Brisbane Broncos have parted with head coach Wayne Bennett... by voicemail.
