An unbeaten maiden ODI century has established him in the Black Caps middle order ahead of the World Cup.
He made 124 not out from 80 balls to complete a 3-nil series victory against Sri Lanka in Nelson.
Three of his nine ODI sixes came during his 31st innings in the format, as Nicholls perfects his power game.
He says he's been trying to clear the rope more, and it's been a thrill to see the ball fly.
