The two-time world champion returns to the high performance squad for the first time since being accused of throwing an end while skipping the New Zealand four in 2009.
Reigning world champions Shannon McIlroy and Ali Forsyth are the only survivors from the 10-strong Commonwealth Games squad who came away without any medals.
Blackjacks head coach Peter Belliss says Lawson adds crucial experience and mental toughness which the team might've lacked in recent years.
