Eliza McCartney will start a big 2019 season next weekend in Hastings

The kiwi pole vaulter is well underway in her planning for the season ahead, which culminates in the athletics world championships in Doha.

Her opening event will be the Potts Classic.

After her 2018 season was busted a few weeks early with an injured heel, McCartney feels like she's good to go.

She says she had three to four weeks where she was affected by it in training and while she still feels it occasionally, she's underway.
