The Government has confirmed it's dumping the much maligned tenure review system

Land Information Minister Eugenie Sage says while tenure review has protected some iconic high country land, much has ended up in private hands or being subdivided.

The minister is launching a public consultation document, which talks about making decisions more accountable and transparent.

And Ms Sage says fees and charges will be 'updated'.
