Kenyan 1500m runner Asbel Kiprop has received the ban from a disciplinary tribunal panel, disagreeing with his contention the sample could have been tampered with.
The banned blood-boosting hormone EPO was found in the Kenyan athlete's urine sample in an out-of-competition test in 2017.
Kiprop was moved from silver to gold retrospectively in Beijing and Nick Willis' took silver when original winner Rashid Ramzi was found to have been a drugs cheat.
