The home side led 19-6 at half-time, before repelling the Reds in the final 15 minutes and keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
The Chiefs were forced to make a whopping 242 tackles to the Reds' 85, while the Queensland side enjoyed 69 percent of overall possession.
Chiefs coach Colin Cooper has applauded their defence.
He says he's proud of the way they've stuck together and it's a sign of unity and the players playing for each other.
