Police are investigating a spate of assaults in Auckland, where the offenders used a hockey stick as a weapon

Police are investigating a spate of assaults in Auckland, where the offenders used a hockey stick as a weapon

On Queens Birthday Monday, a group of four men stole a man's mobile phone on King George Avenue, Epsom.

He was hit with a hockey stick before the group fled in a silver Subaru Legacy station wagon.

On the same day, two men were assaulted in separate incidents in Sandringham.

Police believe the incidents are linked and the victims were targeted because they were alone.

Anyone who saw the car in the areas is urged to contact Police.
