NZ cricketers thank two senior batsmen for Sunday's World Cup final
The New Zealand cricketers can thank their two most senior batsmen for their march to the World Cup final at Lord's on Sunday night
11 July 2019
Kane Williamson with 67 and Ross Taylor 74 guided them to 239 for eight against India at Old Trafford, a score which for many didn't reconcile with the pitch they saw in the middle.
Then India's galaxy of batting talent slumped to 5 for 3, before being dismissed for 221, losing by 18 runs.
Taylor says he and Williamson debated the issue during their 65-run third-wicket stand and agreed it was a tough surface for new batsmen to get established.
New Zealand will find out their final opponents tomorrow morning when the Australia-England match reaches its conclusion.
