Smoke has been seen rising from a south Dunedin carpark, where firefighters and the army have successfully exploded a dangerous and unstable chemical from a local company

Parts of the suburb were evacuated about 7am, ahead of the explosion at about 9.30am.
Emergency services are now in the process of reducing the cordon to about 50 metres, allowing many residents to return home.
A worker noticed the toxic chemical crystallising at the nearby Blis Technologies probiotics company yesterday afternoon.
