Popular Welshman Nigel Owens, who refereed the 2015 Rugby World Cup final, has the honour of officiating the tournament opener when Japan face Russia in Tokyo.
New Zealand's Ben Skeen will be the Television Match Official for that game, the first of his eleven during the pool stages.
Kiwi ref Ben O'Keeffe will control three matches in pool play including hosts Japan versus Scotland, while country man Paul Williams has four games including the mouth-watering contest that is Fiji versus Georgia.
