The nightwatchman and makeshift opener has top-scored with 92 trying to save his side's cause in their maiden test against Ireland at Lord's.
England are 303 for nine in their second innings - a lead of 181 heading into the third of four possible days.
Leach, who averages 4.66 in 12 innings for Somerset this first-class season, has put the English specialist batsmen to shame.
He says on a roasting day, his Dad missed the innings live because he'd deemed it too hot.
Leach instead gave his father his house key, and he watched the knock there.
