    With the defending champion's hand clenched in his, Egan Bernal has won the Tour de France


    The 22-year-old Colombian has safely negotiated his way into Paris as part of the peleton, to become the youngest victor in 110 years, third youngest ever, and first Latin American.

    Teammate and 2018 winner Geraint Thomas has crossed the line with him to finish one minute and 11 seconds back in the overall standings, though he was never going to challenge.
