Police are being asked to step aside at Ihumatao for Maori wardens

Police were seen handling guns over the weekend and Maori Council Director Matthew Tukaki says it's heightened emotional tension at the south Auckland site.
Police say they have armed capability but are not carrying firearms.
They say officers were transporting them outside the cordoned area
Tukaki says it was stupid to bring guns on to the land.
