There's no sign of the cruise boom tapering off - with the year-to-June seeing the biggest increase of spending ever recorded

The year-long period saw 570-million-dollars spent on cruises - a 28 percent jump on the previous year.

Cruise Association chief executive Kevin O'Sullivan says demand for cruise trips continue to grow, despite softening in other areas of the tourism sector.

He says there's a worldwide interest in cruises - but this spending jump is larger than any other region he's aware of.
