Louis Fenton is thankful the A-League's off season is so long

The Wellington Phoenix defender has begun light work at training, having broken his foot in April.

Fenton says the compound fracture became infected, although it took a few weeks to for him to realise.



Fenton says when the screws came out there wasn't enough skin to stitch it back together, so it's had to heal naturally.

He's hoping to be back to full contact training in a few weeks.
