Global jitters over a trade war between China and the US have seen the the New Zealand sharemarket fall by just under one per cent at opening today.
After 10 minutes of trading, the NZX-50 index was down by 98 points or 0.9 per cent at 10,523.
That's on the back of Wall Street's 2.4 per cent fall on Friday.
Turbulence is expected as markets across Asia open today after tweets by President Donald Trump escalated the US-China trade war.
