A Christchurch man accused of drugging women at an inner-city bar before sexually assaulted them has pleaded not guilty
30 August 2019
The man - who has interim name suppression has pleaded not guilty to 17 charges of stupefying women between 2015 and 2018.
He's elected to go to trial by jury.
The man is being charged alongside three others - after police received more than 27 complaints from patrons who claimed their drinks were spiked at Mama Hooch on Colombo Street.
Some women say they were then taken elsewhere in the city and sexually assaulted.
Case review hearings for all four men will be held in November.
