The 21-year-old faced five counts of indecent assault related to two men and two women.
But, he's now pleaded guilty to two amended charges of assault.
NZ Herald reporter Sam Hurley's been in court this morning ... and says the guilty plea came as a shock.
He says the Judge told the jury this resolution was made late last night.
He then thanked the jury and sent them on their way.
The man's interim name suppression will continue until final disposition of the case.
